I think you've badly misunderstood me. I do support self determination, for Palestine, Somaliland, Kurds, Druze, and many others. But AJ and Palestine do not, as witnessed by their hypocritical opposition to Somaliland independence.

If Palestine had followed the Somaliland example of democracy, peace, and good governance, they would have had it, many decades ago. But cynical actors like AJ don't believe in decadent western principles like self-determination, they just want a cudgel to wield against the Jews having same.

Puts the lie to all that bs about "self determination" tho. Somaliland has been independent since 1960, has had peaceful transfers of power in a multi-party democracy since 1991, and citizenry who want nothing to do with the failed state Somalia. They have earned independence a thousand times over.

The only real trick to it is starting with hardware that's 100% supported out of the box. Framework has official support, they don't tell you everything is your fault for using Linux. And easy to repair/upgrade with modular parts--you can just buy new components, they're not all soldered in.

Have you internalized the obvious implication of your own point? Waving a Palestine flag would net Harris 0 votes: gain the Muslim block (small, historically conservative), lose the Jewish block (large, historically liberal).

I was hopping mad when Trump 1.0 stupidly pulled out of the JCPOA. But the sad fact is, the agreement would be nearly expired by now anyway--terms for various provisions were 10, 13, and 15 years. Not sure what would have happened next.

I guess maybe I just wouldn't recognize an earlier generation's particular flavor of homophobia or transphobia as easily. Sure.

I simply don't believe they were so explicitly, vehemently stigmatized in the days before modern, cynical moral panics. Folks had real problems to deal with. Maybe he just wouldn't worry about it too much?
