This is from last fall. It's our galactic next door neighbor. The Andromeda galaxy. It's bigger than we are, and in a few billion years, we will merge into it. It's a mere 2,500,000 light years away. It's big in the sky, but too dim. It spans 6 full moons!

This is another image from late January. It's called the Little Pinwheel Galaxy. It's a smaller version of a bigger, closer one. This one is about 40,000,000 light years away. It's what the Milky Way would look like.

This is from late January. It's the Rosette Nebula. It's about 5,000 light years from us. The reddish color is from ionized hydrogen molecules.
