Just saw a new Southwest slogan on an airport sign: “Open hearts. Open minds. Open seating.”

Didn’t know if they were advertising an airline or a church.

A corrupt, authoritarian government seizes an innocent man, tortures and jails him on trumped-up charges that change during a manipulated "legal" process. The prisoner is left at the mercy of dehumanizing politicians & jailers to do with what they please.

Holy Week then. America now.

Who says that SoCal doesn’t have seasons? It’s officially orange blossom season (a little later than usual this year).

Sometimes we go to pick an orange from our tree and find a hollowed out shell. A rat has chewed a hole through the skin and eaten out the inside, leaving just a husk on the tree. We tape snap traps to the branches and occasionally catch one. I wonder if Elon Musk can be lured by peanut butter?

Went to the native plant sale yesterday with @muscovymomma.bsky.social. There is planting to do - but not today. It’s raining!

Our Creamie chicken (so named because she resembles a creamsicle in coloring) continues to prove herself to be an escape artist. So we have raised the height of the run with some plastic netting. She's a good layer and we'd like to keep her safe from the hawks that fly overhead.

A welcome sight this morning - clouds!

MTG wonders why we don't seed the clouds so rain can quench the firestorms. I drove 250 miles of California today. I did not see even one cloud. Nothing be blue sky.

There's an old Sunday School song "Brighten the Corner Where You Are." There's so much wrong in the world that we can do nothing about, but we can be a bright spot, each in our own corners.

There's a lot of hopelessness out there. I choose to share the hope whenever I can.
