Totally get it, though I have no idea where you came up with divergent totals. They’re also not financing $500 mil. In 1983 no team could afford to build a stadium without sweetheart public $. Now they can’t afford a team unless they get a real estate play.

Billionaires are always out of money. 🤔

Finally, some needed context. Or, “untenable to some, the equivalent to one mid-tier midfielder to others.”

MLS Commissioner says it's not viable. But what's the cost of the alternative?

I’m a Caps fan but that doesn’t make me gag to subsidize a property development disguised as a soccer team. Hope it all works out but Pavco is negotiating (with billionaires) on OUR behalf. Let them cook.

Ironically BC Plc was built because a 35,000 seat facility in E. Van was deemed untenable and only a much larger downtown stadium would guarantee the Whitecaps and Lions survived. Two years later the Caps folded anyway.

But BC Place kept hosting events… Spare some sympathy for owner/tax payers.

And on such a pleasant day.

Pretty sure Cubas has never allowed a point from Messi with either Paraguay or Vancouver.
November 30, 2025 at 4:51 AM
It’s Cubas vs Messi and the rest of them.

Ha!

Enough time left to look at a midfield trio? Does Flores fit?

Canada disastrously undefeated so far? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ralph Priso?

VWFC v. LAFC would be the game for bandwagon fans to see. Likely will be a doozy.
October 22, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Definitely with you. Just remembering the naivety that caused them to drop points against Uruguay, Guatemala etc. There might be a silver lining in a gritty draw against a top team in which they never bunkered, never looked too respectful.

Go ‘Caps.

Re: overlaps
I think you gotta respect a Colombia. That would have been a perfect draw in a WC match. The kind of game that gets them into the next round.
October 15, 2025 at 2:44 AM
Seattle will invent them.
October 15, 2025 at 2:24 AM
No VAR tonight and while the decisions seem slightly tilted in Colombia’s favour, the errors have been even or at least understandable. I don’t miss the multiple-minutes-long interruptions at all.
October 15, 2025 at 2:14 AM
For once I scooped the ice cream man and found that form on my own.

Richly ironic: this AI match report was for a game played without 23 combined regulars due to injuries and international break, rescheduled to accommodate a cash-grab tournament. When does the game itself qualify as fake?

Totally agree that the 604 Derby is a lamentable moniker. I propose the Re-run Derby: It’s always in black and white, doesn’t initially grab your interest but it just might be a classic.
October 1, 2025 at 8:12 PM
There have been several moments of hesitation and clumsiness around the box tonight. Sigh.
September 28, 2025 at 4:27 AM
Thankfully Sounders are catching up.
September 28, 2025 at 2:56 AM
It’s ridiculous. And so Seattle somehow. 🤢
September 28, 2025 at 2:56 AM
So… Cascadia match next week with no Cubas, no Ocampo, no Ranko, no Blackmon, no Adekugbe, no Pupe, no Schonlau, no Gauld? No Müller? No problem 😉

Sorensen will handle it while spinning plates on the sideline.

The Rerun (a classic in black and white).
