Jaxa data is single day. NSIDC data is a 5-day trailing average.

FWIW, I'd say it could be a field day for the heat.

The post is referring to the daily averages (yellow dots). The extreme readings on Feb 16 were hourly averages (red dots).

Have you tried Nerdle? It's like Wordle but with numbers.

That's not so heavy. Humans emit an equivalent weight of CO2 every 1.26 seconds.

Apparently it was caused by the planned power outage for maintenance at the NOAA facility in Boulder, CO. This was well advertised on the NWS website but not on GML's. A little communication would have prevented a number of us getting our knickers in a bunch.

While the annual min and max get most of the attention, record low extent (for the date) around the Summer Solstice has the greatest potential to cause increased heating as it's the time of maximum insolation.

Does your area have a good network of bike paths and/or sidewalks on streets with light auto traffic?

I prefer the bike as it allows me to use bike paths to avoid cars. The paths being less direct than the heavily congested streets add significant distance that usually makes walking a poor option.

One-way pest doors can be effective. But there's the potential issue of trapping babies inside. I'm not an expert but I understand skunks usually give birth in Spring and offspring are independent by Fall. Now might be the best time of year to implement.

Makes me envious of those lucky enough to be born in 25 BC. They could have experienced 5 squares on the BC side and then 5 or more on the AD side. Of course, they wouldn't have known it at the time as that dating system wasn't devised until over 5 centuries later🤔

And you share the information and wisdom within those books with so many here on this app. Certainly an efficient use of those books. Thank you!

I rarely purchase books anymore, only when I can't find them at one of several local public libraries. Think about this: most cars are parked (not being used) 95% of the time - very inefficient. What's the percentage for books? 99.9?

Great information! Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. I've come to realize that I will likely never get all the way to the vegan end of the spectrum but the steps I have taken are positive for the environment and my personal health.

I think the key word is less. Slower just means less speed. We need to do less, consume less. Less is more!
