August in SE Michigan sounds like the constant, hot, loud buzzing of these insects. Though they emerge from the dirt this summer to shed, mate, and die, they spend the vast majority of their lives as underground nymphs. (That’s a great band name.)

The wildest part about this administration so far is that like, as a privileged person, I’ve never really been too worried about what the new person might do. So I might hear some random off-the-wall “quote” and be like, “OK, sure, but what *really* happened?”
