Drumroll, please... The first new Amtrak Cascades train is leaving the Siemens manufacturing facility in Sacramento today and heading to Pueblo, CO for testing! Following a year-long testing journey, they’ll arrive home to the PNW in 2026—stay tuned for more photos! #trains #PNW
A newly manufactured Amtrak Cascades locomotive waits to leave the factory in California. The frame around the windshield is gold. The nose is evergreen to represent the PNW trees and most of the locomotive is cream, the white color representing the cream in your coffee. The updated Amtrak Cascades logo is large inside the cream portion. Blue sky and thin white clouds create the backdrop. A new Amtrak Cascades Business Train Car waits to leave the manufacturing facility for testing. Cascade mountains are featured on both ends of the car. BUSINESS is printed on the top middle portion of the evergreen background. The mocha color frames the plentiful windows and there's a stripe of cream color below the windows. The Business Car sports a gold door which matches the mountains in the Amtrak Cascades logo. The door is open and the steps are down, waiting for you to hop onboard! Some seats are facing and have tables between them. You can see the edge of a table on the single seating opposite side of the car. The windows are large to view the spectacular Northwest scenery. The floors are carpeted. The end wall has wood paneling with a white Amtrak Cascades logo. New spacious Amtrak Cascades Cafe Car features windows on both sides. A large service counter sits in the middle. Evergreen and cream colors with gold accents match the Amtrak Cascades logo, a reflection of the Pacific Northwest. White and green shadow lighting create lovely hues on the ceiling.

So shiny and new! This is a photo taken from the front corner some new Amtrak Cascades train equipment at the Siemens factory in Sacramento, California, which shows the progress to date. The Evergreen background color has been applied but decals still need to be added to complete the final look.

This table has seen many games but this was the first game play with an Amtrak Cascades playing card deck which features the new train equipment coming to the Pacific Northwest in 2026. The card design features the nose of the new locomotive. Mt. Rainier looms majestically overhead. Pink rhododendron flowers in the foreground house a pair of goldfinches. Below the tree line, in the nearby grass fields, three magical horses graze. If you look really closely you may spot the elusive and ever-charming Bigfoot. Can you find him?
