Accepting this has made me exceptionally happier overall and, ironically, heightened my enjoyment of writing. The day job is meh but it doesn't stop me from finding time to write, and when I do, I write whatever I want.

I will say there is like evidence to suggest the perceived flaws I'm noticing are intentional and part of The Point the story is building towards.

Obviously I'm early on in the final act and am enjoying the game enough to see it through regardless, so who knows, maybe the build up and ending(s?) will turn things around. The game is really good but narratively there are some things sticking out to me like a sore thumb. Hmm

Jeremy Blaustein often went the extra mile with his translations. To be honest I think his work localizing MGS1 is a large part of why it became the hit it was, too.

I'm seeing people use it as ammo to hate the game that won all the awards and others ignoring the hard evidence of AI use and acting like there's some sort of agenda against the game and like idk I think neither of these things are helpful or worthwhile.

Yeah that's part of why I'd like to learn the specifics? People are pointing to some interview where a producer for the game said something like "we used a little AI" and spoke to tech making it easier/cheaper for them to make the game and like, man, I would love some clarity here lol

Finally went through all the trailers and not only do we have a playable old woman but she has chicken feet, what a time to be alive
