This is the only lake I've been to all summer...Ruedi near Basalt, CO. TBH it's where I have a pass and with my bad leg...I need to launch the kayak from the boat ramp. But it's quiet and pretty. Tho not has pretty as Dollar Lake.

Finally got back out on the water yesterday. (The damn steroid shot for my knee gave me a week long headache.) It was a bit chilly, 36 when I left the boat ramp. An hour later tho I stripped oof at least two of the four jackets!

Thought I might get caught in the rain on my paddle yesterday...got lucky. I don't mind the rain...it's the lightening that worries me on the water with long metal paddle in my hands!

Very nice morning yesterday. Water is getting pretty low and if you look at the hillside in the distance you might just a see a bit of yellow already. Fall is coming early to the mountains.

This is what I got stuck with for 6 weeks after a car driving in the wrong lane on a blind turn t boned me on my bike with his SUV. He turned my knee bone into dust...had to use bone grafts & bone putty to build a new bone. And now I have to go back to the surgeon as I can barely walk a year later!

I want to be out here this morning. I would be except the leg is acting up so I can't walk up/down the boat ramp. Not sure why, took a nice ride on Monday...just short 25 loop. Leg seemed fine a few hours later I can barely put weight on it. I really don't want to go back to the surgeon!!

I wish I was on Kauai! Had a trip planned in 2020...then Covid. Haven't been there in so long now, I really miss it.

It's not as light out at 5:30 am as it was a month ago. Getting ready to leave to go to this lovely little body of water up the Frying Pan. I like to get out and kayak here for a couple of hours in the morning a few days a week. I'd go more often but it's a 45 minute drive.

This is where I bike. This is usually how busy it is! It only gets crowded when you get up valley to Aspen...then it's a nightmare!

I tried to post this the other day but I don't think it worked. A view from my bike. Took nearly nine months to recover from the car accident...but I rode just about 50 miles. My leg held up pretty good! I miss my Specialized bike...still broken. But the new Cervelo is pretty sweet!

I feed the animals at the Farm Collective on Sundays. Yesterday...the littles... were shivering when I arrived. I just HAD to wrap each one up in my coat and cuddle them till they warmed up. Didn't know till later that it had been their first night out. They had been rejected by their moms.

Trying to motivate myself to head out for a ride, a short 25 miles...it's nearly 7a, nice and cool...if I wait much longer it's going to be too hot. Has to be a road bike ride cause the Ebike needs power. Only way to make the leg stronger is to work it...just wish it wasn't so hard!

Finally gave up on the leg feeling better and just put the Origami Paddler in the water at the boat ramp yesterday. Had a great 2 hour paddle! I hate having to pay to use something supported by my taxes, especially as a senior but...I NEED to use to ramp this summer.

I'm over 60 so...if I posted this already...please forgive me. Just loved the way the rainbow fades into clouds. BTW that is sort of near Triangle Mtn. in Pitkin County, CO...that's what we call it.
