I think people could survive on Linux nowadays if they stuck to Mint or Fedora with KDE, tho admittedly an artist might have to learn Krita or some other drawing app that has a flatpak or something...

Doesn't really sound like a deal breaker to me personally. I don't need to have access to every little bit of the federation while I'm on my NSFW furry account. I can see it being an issue if two instances are feuding over some bullshit but again... find mods you trust.

Tbh I never really got the "shitty moderation" criticism bc like... iunno just find an instance you trust or make your own. It's better than the mods having control over the entire platform and also being nazis.
