Maths teacher here to learn from others to offer my students the best mathematical learning experience I can. I teach KS3,4,5.
My feeling is, you need to make sure you are deepening understanding not delaying progress for the most able. A tricky and complex task. If I can help I will.

Yes please

I don’t know how you think of these things! Great. Can I cheekily ask for a copy? A

Help, are combinations and permutations on the edexcel GCSE? Who should I ask?

You visited my daughter’s school this week. Thank you for your time. She loves maths and it’s so important to encourage her interest.
Now she’s finally noticed all the books you’ve written, many of which we own, she can read about maths too. A

I agree it’s amazing CPD, I’ll start to ask how can we do more. A

I wasn’t sure if they would still be running I thought the amsp funding had been cut?

Do you have a hard copy you could kindly share? I fear my pic is too small to print.
What a privilege to brainstorm this way with your dept.
I’m new to A level and would love to explore some of the underground maths contents with others. I fear I only see one way until a discussion starts.

Thank you very much for sharing. I’m looking forward to working through them. A

I just re-emphasise the amount of times I have told a child they must join me after school because they haven’t done their homework. Their parent sees it as a detention and I see it as an opportunity to help them improve. It doesn’t matter which it is so long as the child can do the work by the end

Thank you.

Or interprets the solution differently? Can’t they just be mistaken.
February 14, 2025 at 2:35 PM
Where did you get the yr1 arcs and sectors tricky questions from?
February 14, 2025 at 2:27 PM
But just because a parent says it is a detention doesn’t always mean it is.
I know my only free time has been after school and I have required students to join me for support.
I don’t see it as a detention but the parents/students may, because it followed an incomplete homework.

I think offering support for a student who is not achieving the expected level is good. Far better that then let him sink to the bottom of the class eventually moving down.

Would costs cut if the options were reduced? Does it make sense for universities to become specialised in specific subjects?

Nice thought to write the signs in the graph. I hadn’t thought of that and it may help some of mine see the connection more clearly. Thanks

I’m interested in answers too.

Thank you, I’ll start to work through this weekend.

Where could I find ratio tables? For ratio and percentages? Do your students remember to use them in the exams?
