I'm pretty sure that's standard on irons in the UK. I've never seen one that isn't.

I just don't think it's fair to say that people won't have a right to complain that MPs don't attend.

Realistically, most people dont follow the instructions and outs of parliamentary procedure and pettions.

How many people even know who their MP is now, letting alone that they could email them?

It's clear how much attention the debate has attracted, hence the petition.

If an MP doesn't think it's important, it's because they don't care.

Surely putting the responsibility on constituents only serves to attribute the blame to them too, absolving MPs of responsibility.

I think it's more reasonable to expect an MP to do their job than it is to expect people to email their MP to tell them to do their job.

People have other things to do too.

Technically, it would be listening, not reading.

eg. a child listening to a story isn't reading. But they are processing information.

The framing of "does it count?" suggests that listening is inferior.
They are 2 different but equally valuable skills.
