This is Paphiopedilum rothschildianum, the king of orchids. It's my first time flowering one and it feels like a dream come true!
Named after Baron Rothschild, and with one of the largest flowers of all plants, this orchid is only found on the slopes of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo.

My Dendrobium griffithianum was awarded Best Species at the Sheffield Orchid Show last weekend. This Dendrobium comes from Thailand and the flowers only last for a week, so that was some lucky timing 😁

My Dendrobium griffithianum was awarded Best Species at the Sheffield Orchid Show last weekend. This Dendrobium comes from Thailand and the flowers only last for a week, so that was some lucky timing 😁

The flowers are more of a deep dark red, but you can hardly tell. They're fragrant with a minty smell.
