Today, the Sun enters sidereal Capricorn, the zodiacal root chakra as mapped by Sri Yukteshwar. This marks Makar Sankranti, the great solar ingress celebrated across the Indosphere—a moment of rising consciousness and the return of growing light in the northern hemisphere.

Discover the second piece of the year, with audio voiceover, on rejuvenating one's ethics of divination. Instead of extracting meaning from the astrological chart, imbue it—nourish it with a loving gaze. Not an eye of grasping, but of awe, wonder, and grace. open.substack.com/pub/askatoch...

Astrology book covers often neglect aesthetics, but Sue Ward’s new work on William Lilly is a refreshing exception. Leslie Ann Jackson’s witty and elegant design—Lilly’s portrait crafted from his own words—is pure brilliance. It made me smile!

The earth is a tiny shadow tottering on the edge of death;
The moon is a throb of splendor in the heart of night;
And the stars are ephemera in the long gaze of God.
So grieve not
That your poems are the cool, fresh grass of a short summer;
The flowers are few.

Let me sing:

O Castor, mortal twin, beacon of lore,
Thy violet fire saves the shipwrecked ashore.
In ianthine hues, thy nebula breath inspires,
Guiding through despair with celestial fires.
Lodestar of poets, twin of hope's decree,
Thy light glisks eternal, steadfast and free.

José Esteban Muñoz writes, “I was able to imagine a time and a place that was not yet there, a place where I tried to live.” I see astrology and dreams as such places—spatio-temporal realities where futurity thrives. In them, I find the “not yet” as a horizon that reshapes how I live and desire.

Regarding today's Krittika Full Moon:

Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.

–Kahlil Gibran, 'On Pain'. The Prophet.

Has anyone worked with their Kurios through meditation, prayer, contemplation, magic, or devotion?

Demetra George defines the Kurios as "the planetary god who corresponds to the personal daimon, the guardian and guide of the soul" based on Porphyry's astrological procedure.

Last night as I was sleeping,
I dreamt—marvelous error!—
that a spring was breaking
out in my heart.
I said: Along which secret aqueduct,
Oh water, are you coming to me,
water of a new life
that I have never drunk?

Antonio Machado, Last Night As I Was Sleeping. Translated by Robert Bly. 1903/1983.
