The @flutterdevofficial.bsky.social dev toolchain is actually pretty dope. Updating, doctor, publishing and testing all from the same CLI. Also just works with VSCode/Cursor and doesn't make me download a flutter specific IDE that I'd never use.

It's incredible how archaic IDEs without AI now feel. Doing a project in iOS and I've actually switched to using cursor for actual code writing and only using xcode to build and test.

our april fools joke this year was a "Text to Bark" service which would translate human text into dog language and the amount of emails we get asking for API access is truly mind boggling

Anyone else finding GPT5 to be really slow for coding? I've gone back to Claude because I'm tired of it taking 10+ seconds to read a file.

I hate Python environments so much. I know that Node is also insane but it's an insanity I can get behind and understand

The not so glamorous part of releasing a new major version of SDKs is all the example code you have to update

I'm a senior level engineer, and I just committed a secret API key to a public repo. If you ever feel impostor syndrome I promise you there are bigger idiots out there.

Always fun when something you wrote a few years ago makes the rounds on Slack and your colleagues put 2 and 2 together.

It's spring time in Amsterdam, which means the sun is out, the flowers are blooming and my car got keyed. Again.

The worst part of working with npm packages is trying to load a local version to test your package without having to publish. What works in one environment just breaks in another.

I love small easter eggs in APIs, like did you know that api.elevenlabs.io/v1/voices doesn't require authentication?

Today's dark pattern award goes to HSBC, who after unsubscribing from their emails because I don't read them, sends me an email asking if I could please re-subscribe because they want to send me more emails I won't read.
