Since March 20, students, anarchists and other anti-authority groups have held simultaneous street demonstrations in cities across the country in response to the passing of Indonesia’s National Armed Forces Law, which allows for a greater role for the military in government.

By 2017, PPAS had organised an Uber riders union of about 600. Islamist organisation Front Pembula Islam (FPI) falsely accused PPAS of being an atheist. Consequently, the union lost about 90% of its membership within the space of two weeks. PPAS remain undaunted. The struggle continues.
