That's what I was thinking. It's the rich billionaires that are funding this thing through venture capital. What happens if they all just don't anymore?

Federation won't matter a ton if this site opens without it ready and millions sign up to this main server anyway.

Oh absolutely, no telling what's going to pop up when you open this app. That's why I was saying it's basically all the worst parts of X. The adult content isn't something you can truly hide in public.

I can kind of get it for non-sexual furry content, but I see all these posts about hating on furry for being LGBT and stuff and just...No. it's not about that, it's about seeing pornography that I did not consent to see and tried to filter out.

We don't want that porn in our feeds.
September 14, 2023 at 4:46 AM
I think I probably wouldn't care so much if the porn filter got the actual furry porn, but it doesn't, which is highly frustrating

There's quite a bit of it in both Discover and What's Hot, but it does say a fair bit about the site regardless of if used or not

I mean, PornHub is mainstream in some sense, but I do think this will remain niche unless Bluesky pushes for further hiding of adult content or tweaks the algorithm to do so

It is the community's fault as well because furries should be marking their porn, that's what the shield icon in the top right is for when posting on here, to make sure porn is marked appropriately. It's on people to hide the content but furries to also mark it as well. Tag your content, tell others

Yep, all they're doing is just giving you more engagement 🤔

In essence, this is following the worst parts of Twitter. One social group dominating the conversation enough to the point that people feel less and less like using it. More influencers/non-furries need invites for this site to remain socially healthy/balanced or it's just going to be another X.
September 10, 2023 at 8:41 PM
Furries would not and probably will not get this because they're the majority group on here right now, so their feed is filled with furry content. It's the equivalent of going on Twitter and trying to hide every single conservative and/or blue check. The tools just aren't there yet.
September 10, 2023 at 8:38 PM
At this point, without reworking something on this site that negatively impacts furries, you'd need to see them either kill invites to furries or greatly increase the numbers to non-furries, say giving influencers way more invites.
September 10, 2023 at 7:38 PM
Honestly, I don't think that's going to happen. Furries are going to remain the prime content (they have some of the largest feeds on here) until this site opens up to all or the automated filter gets fixed. Threads definitely has less of them though (and unfortunately everyone else) in the meantime
September 10, 2023 at 7:35 PM
What the heck? Seriously? I've had to onboard people with much much harder names to pronounce.
September 10, 2023 at 5:06 AM
From what I've heard, furries are actively pushing to sign up as many as possible, while a good portion of everyone else is trying to get money for their invites 🤦‍♂️
