These people were forced into remote desert ‘camps’—promised they’d be arrested and deported if they left—but given no food, shelter, water, or medical treatment except what the local community of a few hundred folks gave out of charity.

I’m a pretty slow vinyl buyer these days. I can see that I’ve neglected to log a few though.

I believe in geomancy because nothing else explains how I transmogrify whenever I have to stay in one of cities I used to love.

Four more, on their way like unattended paper boats. Will they make it, no one knows.

First day of training for a five k from no running ability at all, using the dubious Runna app.

The local art museum put on a double feature of the 30s Whale directed Frankensteins.

I wonder if they would have worked a lot better for me if they’d been silent rather than talkies, tbh. They’re gorgeously lit and decorated. But the dialogue and delivery are abominable.

A lot of people are saying One Battle After Another was based on Thomas Pynchon’s Vineland, and I can see why you’d think that, but Paul Thomas Anderson actually based it on verse two of It’s All Coming Back To Me Now.

I had this on tape originally, so I guess today is as good a day as any to go pick this up at my local spot.

Limited. 19 bucks for a cola and a bottle of water.

The soft pretzels were very popular; they had churros too. Think they may have had a small dippin dots set up, also? Outta my price range.

Maricopa County is cracking down on the proliferation of proper al pastor tacos. They’ve seized and fined at least 55 vendors.

The proper method for making al pastor on a trompo is not possible under the current food safety regulations.

Tacos al Pastor, marinated and slow cooked, are delicious.

TIL despite the Paramore original being unrelated, the David Byrne cover of Hard Times is about the obscure punk cafe in Minneapolis.
