Update on the mushrooms growing on the stump in my yard. I feel so blessed by the fall fungi this year 🍄📷
At least two types of mushrooms (one caramel-colored and one of a rosier brown) each simultaneously presenting various stages of growth on a stump, shown from a low angle that showcases the cacophony of shapes, textures, and colors that can be found in this lush PNW climate, even in the overcast weather of fall.

A stump, surrounded by grass, twigs, and pine needles, is home to a colony of caramel-colored mushrooms with ruffled skirt-like structures projecting out from the side of the stump.

The progression of growth on a stump in my yard last month when it started raining again in western Washington 🍄📷 #fungifriends
Small ruffles of fungus, white at the center and sandy-colored on the edges, first spotted emerging from the stump on October 6 The growth has accelerated rapidly and taken on a more uniformly beige coloring by October 10 By October 21, the growth resembles overlapping stacks of pancakes, or a tan-and-cream-colored coral reef, or bouquet of caramel carnations Also taken October 21, this angle shows another type of fungus, which resembles clumps of pale yellow spheres like oversized lemon dip n' dots, growing on the stump alongside and between several layers of the pancake-y one
