Snapped a snappy-snap of Slangkop Lighthouse, in Kommetjie - one of the largest made entirely (mostly?) of cast-iron - when I took an early morning wander to the beach.

The sea is on the right of the image, foamy shore-break onto rock which fill the foreground. Greenery encroaches from the left through to the lighthouse.

Here’s an idea of what I got through; first pic is the day I got my keys, second about four months later after stripped it back, the last about three years after that. Same room every time. Reckon I can work back through tasks.

The front of my dirty converse shoe peaks in from the left of the frame, also in the foreground. The room is bright. White plastic skirting with cables visible along the top. Beige walls (wallpaper) and a similarly coloured radiator on the back left wall. The ceiling is white as is the cornicing which looks off where the walls meet at the top centre of the image. Pic of a room from the front left corner looking at the back right. The floor is pine, dirty and covered in marks and plaster powder. The back wall is stripped, mostly white, pockmarked from not using a wallpaper remover. No radiator. The right wall has no plaster. It’s dirty bare stone with wooden battens running down at metre intervals. There’s a fireplace that’s been shoddily shored with brick and wood. Lower legs visible in the foreground, filthy and vedskoened, knackered. The roof is still amazingly, mostly white. The cornicing is still not right back left. Pretty sure they didn’t replace it properly after putting a wall up and instead slapped some plaster in and hastily drew the egg and plant pattern in with a nail. Poorly. There’s an orange patterned rug running from under the couch through to the right side of the frame bordered by a white plastic framed TV on legs which has a Victorian mahogany fireplace surround rising above it from behind. There’s a pair of bookcases on each wall where they meet at the opposite end of the view from the couch. There’s left hand wall has a number of pictures in black frames. The walls are a pale green. The ceiling is white. The cornicing is white. The back left cornicing is a weight on my mind, I will need to replace it. There a light fixture hanging from a ceiling rose top-centre of the picture. The light is on. It looked like a milk-drop hanging from a stainless steel stem.
