Ok got through and told him he needs to not own the shutdown. He needs to phrase it as republicans owning the shutdown because they refuse to pass a bipartisan CR that helps the people. Stage a freaking sit in if he is worried about DOGE having unfettered access. Don’t leave!!

Do we ever get any of them deprogrammed? We can’t erase people’s hate by shaming or ignoring them. We do that by connecting with them on some level (builds trust) and then educating them.

Things have not been normal lol. We fought and I have cut the hard core MAGA family members out but some are reasonable people who’ve been brainwashed and yes…they have hate. And that is enough to sway an election. Some will stay in the cult until the end but I’m not ready to give up on everyone who voted for him. A lot of young voters don’t know any better and people like my dad aren’t functioning like they used to but are still reachable.

Live off of SS and my dad gets all of his cancer treatments covered by the VA. His wife’s grandson has autism and they live in Ohio. They are getting nervous now. People can wake up from a cult but your approach with them matters. It takes love and patience which can admittedly be hard with them lol
