Almost following exactly what it did last winter, this Ferruginous Duck spent the day at Normandy Marsh yesterday, and then conveniently relocated to Brownwich Pond where it was found this PM - with presumably the same Tufted flock it wintered with on Posbrook Flood last year.

It's a shame the Ross's Gull, Lapwing or Diver didn't hang on long enough for the weekend, but a trip to the NE is always good value for a Southerner. American Buff-bellied Pipit was the stand out highlight, as was Yank Wigeon, Smew, Ring-necked Duck, Iceland Gull & Willow Tits!!

I've been slow to sift through the thousands of photos taken in Ghana from November. But here are four of the many highlights; Red-cheeked Wattle-eye, the very cool Nkulengu Rail (a great experience in it's own right), Congo Serpent Eagle & point blank views of African Wood Owl.
