It makes me really sad seeing people making whole posts about “books I hated” and things like that. Trust me, I know better than anyone that not every book is for everyone, but someone worked really hard on that and was proud of it. :(

S.F. Williamson's YA fantasy The Language of Dragons is pitched as Babel meets Fourth Wing; while there's enough action and worldbuilding to keep a dragon entertained, readers hoping for a little more nuance might still be waiting for a spark:

Highly highly recommend Chain-Gang All Stars! It’s an incredibly powerful book full of characters with strong, unique voices.

I don’t think this is necessarily surprising. I re-read The Hunger Games trilogy and read Parable of the Sower for the first time in January, and the dystopian settings are eerily similar to the world we’re living in now.
