"Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me"
Sonny Rhodes- The Ballad of Serenity

Democracy Dies In Silence!
Oh? And Promises made; promises broken. Make America Great Again?
Total fails there- that's what I'm talking about. Not his personal agenda for himself. With the Republican controlled congress protecting him, the next move is after midterm results.

I want decent housing, decent food, good health care that doesn't cause me to choose between it and food/housing, and a bit left over for small luxuries and retirement. With a median income, I have bad apt., bad diet, and worried about affording preventive/maintenance healthcare. Trump failed.

Seriously?
November 26, 2025 at 12:19 PM
Conservatives can fuck up a good program just as badly.
It's about form and function, not ideology. Ideology spoils the broth.
November 25, 2025 at 12:24 PM
Niche becomes its own "monopoly" because few offer it.
November 25, 2025 at 12:23 PM
What does the size of the business have to do with cash flow?
Why is a small company the only way to make money? Why only small to offer insurance people want?
A number of small companies are niche- and niche is expensive.

I love the stage version. I've seen it at the Pantages several times, with the original stars, Carol Kane...
But this movie? Lacks dramatic flair. It's a milking, not a show.
It's what they did to Into the Woods. Hollywood just can't do musicals anymore.
November 25, 2025 at 12:40 AM
It's not the size of the companies. It's how much they operate in the black.
Would you rather have insurance monopolies, deciding who gets covered? Who gets treated?
Oh yes- they already decide who gets treated of the people enrolled.
November 24, 2025 at 8:29 PM
OK-you use "progressive" in an imprecise manner.
It also solved some problems. You don't want to address the human angle of it.
And that's the way of government programs. They aren't perfect.
I think you have authority issues.
November 24, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Oh, there's tolls and roads in need of repair in WV.
And they've gone through craziness, too.
You must not know about the Coal unions in WV.
November 24, 2025 at 8:25 PM
Um. Not following your thought process here. What woman? What riot? The woman who was shot in Chicago?
November 23, 2025 at 3:56 PM
Good luck with that. Insurance is regulated just as AT&T were subject to regs before the breakup. But insurance has a wealthier lobby.
November 23, 2025 at 3:55 PM
That's just an illogical opinion. Sounds more like conspiracy.
November 23, 2025 at 3:53 PM
The ACA was definitely pushed out too soon, like all government programs, including Conservative ones.
Use of "Obamacare" indicates a biased opinion, btw.
November 23, 2025 at 3:53 PM
Because there is little consistency in sentencing across the system. Different trials. Different juries. Different crimes.
November 22, 2025 at 5:37 PM
If I remember right, it was discussed in the past. Now, this company can own multiple companies as groups and hence control a section of the insurance sector. Heck- pharmacies are owned by insurance companies now. BTW- monopolies don't have significant competition. That's why they are monopolies.
November 22, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Depends on the contract and the location. Trust me- WV state does not get as good of a deal as California.
November 22, 2025 at 5:33 PM
You do know different jurisdictions have different sentencing guidelines, right?
If nothing else, that policeman showed careless disregard of life and used force beyond necessary. And a man died. Should we give the cop a bonus for eliminating a very dangerous criminal?
November 21, 2025 at 2:00 PM
That system had already been tried. I don't think you were living here at the time. I was. I handled the shop's plans at the time. Insurance isn't like buying chips at the store. They are near-monopolies in some respects.
November 21, 2025 at 1:58 PM
So, union employees are somehow not tax payers?
November 21, 2025 at 1:57 PM
There are positives about the Canadian and other UK influenced countries approach to health care. And the insurance companies in the US decides now who lives or dies due to lack of pre-approved treatment. One of my meds- not covered now by insurance and I kind of need it- but $99?. So much better?
November 21, 2025 at 12:01 AM
And California will have to deal with that.
Better than unenlightened and ignorant billionaires running the show.
November 20, 2025 at 11:58 PM
LOL- there is also careless disregard of human life to consider in murder. Depraved indifference, it's also called.
Like a DUI driver who kills someone while stoned and driving. Using that move demonstrates that.
That's the law and has been for quite some time now. Try again.
November 20, 2025 at 11:57 PM
So? Boundaries. That's Canada. Not my business. Isn't it still evolving and not a done deal, anyway?
In the US, the individual sets up the POA or the court grants it if the person waits too long. Mom set hers up.
