a) is a comedic exaggeration, but people complain that DoorDash et al are price gouging when in reality they are barely profitable if at all. They can’t grasp that private delivery of a meal is inherently costly, see e.g. original JulesSu post.

b) is exemplified by the following image.

They also misinterpret their own charts. It’s sort of amusing. Look at A. They say that since the slopes are the same, there’s no difference between constrained and unconstrained cities. But the y axis l shows growth rates! The rate is higher for constrained cities for all income growth levels!

I was also confused by this paper. Does this picture not contradict the statement from the abstract? Seems like supply constraints do have an impact on prices.

Yeah so the abstract says that income and house prices, quantity, etc. have the same relationship regardless of supply constraint measures, but that doesn’t seem to track with the results for price (it does for quantity)
