uxm is *so* x-men. teenagers othered by society because of their powers but still trying to do the right thing and help those who hate them. that’s the heart of x-men right there

i see this opinion that if a character is radically different from the source, just make a new character. i think it’s
more important to honor the spirit and core values than the exact notes, especially in an adaptation trying to do things differently. ultimate x-men 2024 is a great xample (😈)
