Really enjoyed this episode! I've heard about the Slavelords for decades, but never picked up what the adventures were about beyond fighting slavers. Now I understand why!

I installed this on my high school library computers in the 90s, leading to discrete craze among the students. Until some nark told on us...

I think that's basically how pools work in Cypher, you spend them to use abilities, and to avoid harm.

I've got a Supernote, which is a similar eink writing tablet. It's amazing! I mostly use if for writing, but they've recently added Atelier, a drawing package, and in general the dev team are always adding new features and improving the experience. And no subscription nonsense like the remarkable.

Are you also one of those people "the news are good" people?

I don't know, I was surprised that even 40% were the same. Weird to see Avatar up there with Gone With the Wind.

Well, absolutely nailed it. I love all the unique city / castle symbols. Definitely want to adventure there!

Wow, the loch land map is totally gorgeous. Reminds me of the old Lone Wolf game books, in the best possible way.

Been using revolt.chat, it's seems to have most of the discord features I actually use. Plus it's open source and not about to file for an IPO.

I guess it only gets exciting once we start fighting nazis. Leave the dogs alone tho, that never felt right.

That's quite a story!

Publishers in the US have to deal with the costs and expenses of their country & def need a certain revenue to be sustainable. But framing the problem as consumers being "cheap" isn't fair, and other publishers offering products at 'low' prices may be just reflecting their own economic situation.

I wonder if there a strong US bias in some of these comments. The US median disposibal income is more than double that of the EU, and the gap widens even further in the wider world. $20 might not seem much to you, but it hits the wallets of other folks like $50.

That's interesting! This is the first thread I've contributed to (usually my replies are just to tell artists that I loved their art), because it felt like an real discussion, not just "totally!" "This is the way." But I'm new to BSky, is it bad form to provide alternative views on the op?

For me, I'm more likely to spend 5$ x 3 than risk 15$ on something I might not enjoy. And friends who sell pdfs pwyw say that even if only 1% of 'purchasers' pay, they make more than if they'd listed it for 10$ and only gotten a handful of downloads. But that's not the same for everyone/thing obvs.

At 10$+ I start asking, do I need this? Will I use it? & often the answer is... Probably not. If it's from someone I know and love I might get it, but that massively benefits bigger names. If I had more money I'd be happy to support more creators, and I don't argue that their work isn't worth more.

That might well be true, and you certainly know more about the economics of the sector than I do. But speaking as a consumer, I make a lot of impulse purchases of cheap digital products, because they look cool or intriguing. And if they're not right for me it's not a big loss.

Love the mix of soft vagueness and small details. Reminds me of hiking around Scottish isles in the mist.
