❗ Our findings show that AfD youth support is not only strikingly stable, but also closely linked to #partyidentification and #nativist attitudes - pointing to broader partisan realignment and #normalisation underway (rather than 'protest' voting).

💻 Empirically, our analysis draws on original #survey data collected during the 2024 state elections in #easternGermany (Thuringia, Saxony, Brandenburg).

📚 Theoretically, we connect established approaches from electoral sociology with contemporary insights from research on #populism, the #farright, and #youth political behaviour (following the call by @kai-arzheimer.com and others 🤓).
