Very good question, this should not be allowed, but as per their help article, users in the US don't even have the option to opt-out, so it's an intentional change to EU policy.

RyanAir only give you the seat allocation after your checked in with no option to change afterwards. It's my own fault for using them.

JS in the early days was great, so was Flash, despite the security vulnerabilities. But as a net outcome, it's negative. Even early on JS was just for shiny stuff, nothing that couldn't be achieved with server side programming, which it still is today.

Not that the alternatives were better, but try browsing with JS disabled, even static sites fail. I did not consent to JS being only used for ads.
