I like strong, fresh ground, French press coffee. If the spoon is standing up in it, it still needs another 5 minutes. Trying this tribaljava.ca blend (Vernon, BC) and loving the full flavour. Great philanthropy by this company, too.

I remember it in stubbies through the 60s & 70s in Ontario. Produced by Carling O’Keefe at the time. There’s a fun history behind this ad. I’ll post a link below.

A Facebook post by Teri Michelle: 1h • So if you were thinking of voting for the Conservative Party... I went to Polievre's rally in Saskatoon this evening. I wanted to hear him speak and I had questions. I was there with a friend. We stood near the back of the warehouse because it was crowded and very loud. I was wearing a trans rights t-shirt. As Polievre was being introduced, a man came up to us and asked us to leave. We asked why. We hadn't done anything, we were there to listen, like everyone else. He said it's private property and we were trespassing. I said we signed up to be there. He said we needed to leave. I said why, we haven't done anything. He said if we don't leave we'll be arrested. Then he grabbed my arm. I wrenched it away. He went to grab it again and I avoided him. Then the cops grabbed me and marched me out. Once we got outside we asked if we were being arrested. They said we were trespassing and this was private property. Each of my arms were held by a different cop. I said if you guys let go of me I'll leave. They said "you're resisting" and handcuffed me. Four cops marched me to the street and went through my pockets. (They did a very poor job because I did have my ID in my pocket but they did not find it.) They said they needed my name. I said no. They said if I didn't give them my name I'd be arrested. I said I didn't do anything. They said I was trespassing. I gave them my name and they confirmed my identity in their database. Then they uncuffed me and said if I came back to the rally I'd be arrested. So that's your tax dollars hard at work folks. Cops handcuffing people to march them out of rallies for... not cheering? Wearing a pro-trans shirt? Standing at the back because it was very loud? Wanting to ask our political leaders some questions? Polievre says Canada for Everybody, but he means only for people just like him.

I just read “Conservatives don’t believe in handouts”, and it’s weird. It would lower hospitalization costs AND generate revenue. It’s basic math.

“Worse still, the BC GOVERNMENT apparently cannot do basic math. For every person they keep out of hospital by properly supporting them with a $1200 month raise to the disability rate, 30 others could also get that raise in reduced hospitalization costs. In other words, the raise would actually save money. And generate $12,000 per person in economic activity every month after 2.5 years because our banks compound quarterly.
