Did you know the terms 'left wing' and 'right wing' originated from the French Revolution?
And as explained here, women enthusiastically embraced politics- so I won't accept this 'Antoinette ignored everything because women didnt partake in politics' argument that I see thrown around so much!
A embarassed and bewildered Englishman sits amongst many women as he watches the debates in the Assembly. Narration says: "I watched the deputies debate in the National Assembly today. There were many women there. They seem eager to participate in politics, and no one tries to stop them. Is it not enough that the Parisian women forced the monarchy to relocate to Paris in that protest?" The Englishman sits in the center of the panel, to his Right are one set of deputies, to his Left another- Robespierre sits on the Left, of course. Narration: "The Assembly debates are lively affairs, and the deputies sit on each side according to their opinion. On the RIGHT are those of a conservative point of view, who still believe the monarchy to be trusted with power. On the LEFT sits the more progressive deputies, those who wish for the power to be distributed equally amongst all kinds of people." Some people behind the Englishman shout loudly down towards the Assembly floor, making his wig dislodge in the surprise. They shout: 'Bravo! Petion!" Narration: "It is very clear which side is more popular with the commoners." The famous deputy Petion sits in the middle of the panel, speaking with confidence. Robespierre sits behind him with satisfaction, whilst another deputy Barnave looks at Petion with some concern. Narration: "These deputies to the left are perhaps encouraged too much by the public. They keep proposing increasingly radical legislation." A preist and a revolutionary shout each other against a dark background. Narration: "It is causing much conflict across France. There has been continued violence between the priviledged and commoners. There is only so much wealth the elites are willing to give up." The Englishman sits in front of France's famous 'Declaration of Rights of Man' painting, made in 1789. He rolls his eyes with exasperation. Narration: "France's Declaration of the Rights of Man has inspired much of thsi chaos, as far as I can see."

Some creators would post the same content to both apps, but it was edited and posted originally to TikTok. I know people that would send me content I saw from TikTok but they didn't have the app. 1/2
