Quick and easy cockpit painting tip. Canopy glass: paint the glass area gunmetal (boltgun metal), paint on top of that on half the window a brighter metal (like a bright silver). After that dries put a thin layer of a contrast paint over it, leave a corner untouched for that reflected sun look.

It helps you better see details, anything you paint on top of it looks less flat as long as you keep your coats thin, almost like it pre-highlights it.

Personal rule I have is that I (mostly) always prime in black then drybrush grey on the edges.

For mechs and tanks I like to drybrush a tiny amount of a gunmetal metallic on the edges to weather them up a little.

Depending on the model, I have been drybrushing my highlights on with the smallest flat end brush I can find, and then touching up the places I over do it. The more I practice the cleaner I get it without touch ups. It’s simplifies, speeds up the process, especially if you’re painting by regiment.

Yeah it makes my printed pikes look dumpy, but got to being that heat.

You can make up your own merc/prirate company and go wild. If you want something more traditional pick a faction and look up camo specs. All my clan stuff is a subfaction of ghost bear and everything else are random merc patterns I think look cool.
