The first game I played with "active turn based" gameplay was Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door. I really enjoyed it , so I was surprised to find Expedition 33 so frustrating. After experiencing both, I appreciate the design effort that must have gone into the encounters in the former a lot more

The offensive QTEs on the other hand, I find easy and also very boring and tedious.

I started the game in the harder difficult setting and found the combat to be very frustrating due to how tiny the windows are for dodging/parrying.
After turning it down to normal I'm having a much better time, but I still think it is really weird how hard they made the defensive options.
