The replies to that post are disconcerting. There is no form of Federal revenue generation that won’t subsidize red (poorer) states by blue (wealthier) states. The alternative is going full Libertarian and shutting it all down.

Anecdotal, but: in the supermarket last night after work and there were no eggs and no milk. And this part of Upstate NY is not currently experiencing (nor prone to) a natural disaster.
