Just an old guy in the UK worried about the state of the world.
Much as I despise AI I have to admit that its ability to colour and restore old B&W photos is impressive. This is one of my great Grandfathers William Parker with his second wife Kate. William was the brother of Richard Parker, of whom much has been written.

@historicalsoton.bsky.social Looking on the map for 67 Northam road it seems it no longer exists. Bombed in WW2?

@barnaculesnerdgasm.com Maybe a topic for a future stream?
If brands needed any more reasons to stop advertising on X, this is what you'd be supporting as an X advertiser: Holocaust denial (Grok's response to an antisemitic user with a H!tler profile picture).

Holocaust denial is a crime in France, so why can we see this there?

Lots of passive words in this "Declaration: International Aviation Climate Ambition Coalition".

"Emphasising", "Supporting", "Promoting"...

Will anything actually be done?

I love how the US ambassador feels comfortable telling the UK how it must run its energy policy. This coming from a country led by a man who thinks climate change is a 'con job'.

Lots of weasel words about aviation emissions:

"advance ambitious actions to reduce aviation CO2 emissions"

?

How about committing to cease flights if emission targets aren't met?

I'm suffering secondhand embarrassment for The Telegraph. WSJ got kicked out of the press pool for saying bad things about the orange man and The Telegraph got their seat. The sycophantic article that followed is worse that even I would have expected.🤮
