so all last year we were told by the republicans and trump that the 1400$ checks biden gave out in 2021 ruined the economy but somehow 2000$ checks given out from money illegally taxed on imports won't.

so even though SCOTUS said in *CFPB v Community Financial Services* that the funding for the CFPB is legal, the Trump admin once again following the dictates of Russel Vought and Project 2025 have declared by fiat that it is not a legal funding mechanism.

whats amazing about this shutdown is the democrats are basically asking for the GOP to keep things the same IE, renew the already existing tax credits which costs nothing budget wise and the GOP meanwhile refuses to spend taxpayer money on taxpayers because principles I guess
