Time to make some pasta sauce. All produce was either grown in the garden or foraged in the yard (mushrooms)

Our "mystery" orchid bloomed. It was a mystery because I bought on discount after it was done blooming in the store. We didn't know what color it would be, just that it was a phalenopsis.

First produce of the year. Can always rely on our chives to come up early in the year. I snipped off a few to garnish baked potatoes with tonight.

I was just watching a show about the Voynich Manuscript, so I did a search for it online and found a scan. I think that instead of code breakers, an herbalist should take a look at it. Some plants look somewhat familiar

Saw some bears in the clouds the other day. Does anyone else see a mother on all fours with a playful cub on its hind legs in front.

My stock making spree is done. My last 2 are Dashi and roasted vegetable broth(that I went full meme speak on by calling it "vegetal borth"). Overall I made 10 quarts and 23 pints of stock. That should last us a while.

Next up on my stock making spree is mushroom stock made with button mushrooms (store bought white mushrooms) and a dried wild mushroom blend with shiitake, oyster, wood ear, and porcini mushrooms

I went on a stock-making spree this past week, 4 jars of ham stock, 5 jars of rotisserie chicken stock, and 5 jars of beef bone broth.
Next I will make vegetable stock and dashi.
I pressure canned them to store.

Accomplishment of the day: fixing our garbage disposal that hasn't been working for several months.
Apparently garbage disposal have "reset" buttons on them (wish I knew that 4 months ago)

I decided to give myself a "Chopped" challenge for dinner tonight.
