also i did this in steps! they would start meowing at 7 am, so the first morning i set the alarm for 7:05, then fed them. the second day, 7:10, etc., until i reached the time when i wanted to wake up. idk if this helps for every cat but it's made my mornings so much better :)

my cats used to wake me up for food - meowing, even biting -, but then i pavlov'd them to respond to my alarm clock. every morning, i would completely ignore them until my alarm went off, then immediately feed them. now they no longer bother me in the morning, but wait patiently for the alarm
