I wonder what this will mean environmentally to the Everglades? Where is all the waste going to go, and how polluting will the power supply be?

This strikes me as a regional & not a parochial issue - after all, the governor had to sign off on congestion pricing

Also it would be a great help to have a closer hub outside the city with good parking and frequent trains/buses

Not sure why the lower population in the Hudson Valley doesn’t mean we couldn’t have better mass transit into the city - I think there are still a lot of people??

Could say the same about museums, etc I guess - why bother to go all the way into the city?

Not that easy from the mid-Hudson Valley; ~ 50 min to Poughkeepsie train; or a bus that stops for 20 min at the next town; plus subway; vs 2 hrs to drive in to Lower Manhattan on a Sat. for a hair appt (small business!)

Not that easy from the mid-Hudson Valley; it takes me 50 minutes just to get to the Poughkeepsie station where there is good parking; vs. ~ 2 hours to drive into the city on a Saturday for a hair app’t at a small business

In a better world NYC would offer better mass transit options - especially for people outside the city - first, then impose penalties for not using them second - rather than just making it harder on balance for people to get into the city.
