The sea surface temperature (SST) around the Center was 8.3℃ today.

A little seastar was observed in the seawater tank, at the Center.
It may have recruited into the tank along with natural seawater.

I posted about a mysterious organism found in the seawater tank the other day. It seems to be a strobila of a jellyfish.

A flatworm (Planocera multitentaculata?) was observed preying on live bivalves attached to a seawater tank.

The words of the first director of the Asamushi Marine Biological Station, Prof. Shinkishi Hatai, carved on the stone monument within the center grounds, were highlighted more clearly by the snow.
It says that “That is most interesting. I suggest you attempt it.”

This is a mysterious organism I found in the tank. It may be a hydrozoan.

Two reared green sea urchins (Hemicentrotus pulcherrimus) shared a piece of fish meat in the water tank at the Center. Their gametes will contribute to research at the Center.

Snow has also accumulated around the Center. Winter has arrived.

The bivalve (Chlamys farreri nipponensis) is being reared at the Center. The numerous eyes along the edge of its mantle reflected light and appeared to shine.
