Again, without knowing what you have in mind specifically, I won’t speak on its validity as Fair Use. But I’m sure inevitably, you will receive a copyright claim over any unlicensed use of licensed music. If you truly believe you have a stance via Fair Use, you can still challenge it.

Yeah. I’ve used snippets of their music with no VO over them in my reviews, but it’s protected under Fair Use - it’s a small part of the video, and it’s for critiquing. The way I use music is not a replacement of the original content - you wouldn’t watch my videos as a substitute for Nintendo OSTs.

There’s wiggle room for Fair Use, but it’s tenuous given the transformative nature - you cannot be a market substitute for the original content; you have to be educational, critical, commentative, satirical/parody, or news. And you’d have to be willing to challenge the inevitable YouTube claim.

You generally can’t use copyrighted music at all. It’s at the discretion of the copyright holder - ex: most video game companies allow us to use game OSTs; however, Nintendo took down a music channel for infringement, and that was within their right to do so.
