Always at an awkward age. Interpreter of life. Rare and unusual. Food sums/graphs essential. Much music. Walking. https://japesaryom.co.uk/
Luckily, I had a great book to distract me from those who insist they are entitled to conversation from anyone they choose to talk to.

Accidently booked a ticket next to the sound desk rather than end of row as I prefer! Oops... Never mind, I do have an excellent view and it's splendid having absolutely no responsibility for anything or anyone but me.

Yesterday's A-Z walking (change from bull hunting) after finding this led me to go down some research rabbit holes on my return which ended up with me wondering where other trig points might be within the A-Z then had me concluding today's walk needs to go to find the trig point in the parish!

Queued at Customer Service in Sainsbury's Northfield to hand the Nakd bars over to point out the Best Before date. There was a whole box full of these for sale and I wanted to prevent them being sold. I got some with a 2026 date so not a wasted trip to restock my clean cupbaords!

22,460 steps, elephant collecting, and getting to scramble around the back of an organ after testing it out. A most excellent day, thank you @yrieithydd.bsky.social

Out on the Bulls in the City arts trail. I have the trail map rather than the app. But I have found the first of my workplace ones, my church's primary school one, and could've collected more this morning, but it started raining and I was hungry.

Achieved the weekend's mission. Now on the train back. There was cake.

"Lovely little park for a lunch stop," thinks me as I admired the meadow flowers. I am under what seems to be a busy flight path to Birmingham International.

That was fun! I do seem to have got around a lot... smstone0.github.io#/uk-map

I need to add changing trains at Crewe to the skills I have misplaced list. In my defence, I think this is the first time I have used the lifts here... Still I got to see a Pullman train on its way through.

Looks as if this will be an interesting journey north. The train I usually get for this journey doesn't seem to exist. Now to decide which way round to go. I may wear off the effects of cheesecake for breakfast...

Out on a gentle non-A-Z stroll.. coffee and millionaire's shortbread at the 8.5 miles mark is a good plan! Lunch will be somewhere between 13 and 14 miles.

I appear to have walked right across the city and am about to leave my A-Z walking for a bit... I only set out to do the local country park walk as far as QE hospital, before it got busy, then forgot to stop. Oops...

I have tried, and failed to come up with any extenuating circumstances for this morning's classic entitled driver telling me I had no grounds for "moaning" as he'd thoughtfully moved the wing mirror in. so I could get past and how dare I be so rude as to suggest he parked on the clear road.

A little fresh air for us all... in days gone by we might have wandered up to visit @wobblygoose.bsky.social and @ruthh.bsky.social

Quintus and Decimus are feeling a bit braver and are inspecting Leamington station.
February 18, 2025 at 12:53 PM
I promised my students that Quintus and Decimus would have half term travelling. So here they are on their 1st train journey. They would look out to say Hello to @type1tony.bsky.social as we have just stopped at the correct station but they are feeling shy...

My Ukrainian wooden triptych is staying out as well (the ducks are going back to work with me...) partly because it is lovely and deserves to be seen more, and partly to remind me to pray about important things.

Perrott's Folly is looking very atmospheric. It's beautifully quiet out there for A-Z walking.
December 26, 2024 at 10:01 AM
What do you mean, no ducks at the Nativity? It's a very honourable tradition which Quintus (on the left) + Decimus are proud to uphold. After all, my first duck nativity was to be found in FE chaplaincy. Quintus does, and Decimus will, work very hard for my current FE additional needs students.

I was left unsupervised in church after the Crib Service to move the knitted nativity scene from the stable to its customary place around the Bishop's chair. (We have another set which goes in the stable but needs steady adult hands to do it!)

The state of play with end of cul-de-sac parking this evening... On bin night. Can't decide if I'm going to get up to move my bin to a safer spot.

Went for the decent walk I've been needing for a few weeks, and which Storm Darragh prevented last weekend. There was plenty of evidence of the storm all along the various paths I took.

This is going to be interesting... these are not my responsibility.

@polyhymnia.bsky.social I wandered into our workplace workshop and asked if the humungous King Dick was still hiding somewhere in the tool shed... I forgot to measure/weigh, but neither light nor small. We reckoned it was used for ships engines, maybe.
