Memo to news editors. If, in stories about alleged BBC bias over Gaza, you only quote Danny Cohen and Ian Austin, then you are also biased. Newspapers are, of course, allowed to be biased. But let’s say it doesn’t strengthen your case

I am FoI'ing the BBC on some issues to do with Israel-Gaza. DG Tim Davie told MPs on Mar 4: “Part of what I have tried to do for the BBC is to be a guardian of true impartiality through thick and thin, and that requires being completely transparent.“ But the BBC has so far withheld this information

Alfred Brendel’s last concert in Vienna in 2008. A look of happiness on his face that, finally, it was all over. And with the small group of pianists lucky enough to have studied with him. He still had so much to give, but I treasure this moment of relief and intimacy. RIP
