Memo to news editors. If, in stories about alleged BBC bias over Gaza, you only quote Danny Cohen and Ian Austin, then you are also biased. Newspapers are, of course, allowed to be biased. But let’s say it doesn’t strengthen your case

Alfred Brendel’s last concert in Vienna in 2008. A look of happiness on his face that, finally, it was all over. And with the small group of pianists lucky enough to have studied with him. He still had so much to give, but I treasure this moment of relief and intimacy. RIP
