I make puns. I can promise quantity, but not quality.

Assistant professor of mathematics at the University of Kentucky, working on algebraic topology ↦ mathematical physics. He/him.
New paper online, joint with Matt Yu!

A great collaboration and a fun project, and we definitely plan to return to this subject in the future :)

Pleased to announce a new project up on arXiv today, joint with Omar Antolín Camarena, Cameron Krulewski, Natalia Pacheco-Tallaj, Daniel Sheinbaum, and Luuk Stehouwer!

This is a piece of a longer-term goal to understand the "free-to-interacting map" on topological phases using algebraic topology.

New paper on arXiv this morning, joint with Cameron Krulewski!

In this project, we illustrate how to apply our previous work with Devalapurkar, Liu, Pacheco-Tallaj, and Thorngren to answer some questions in the literature.

I wrote an article on differential cohomology for the Encyclopedia of Mathematical Physics (2nd ed)!

Many authors for this encyclopedia have posted their articles on arXiv (see arxiv.org/search/?quer...) and I highly recommend checking other articles out; I've really liked them!
Differential cohomology (encyclopedia article)
We give an overview of differential cohomology from the point of view of algebraic topology. This includes a survey of several different definitions of differential cohomology groups, a discussion...

Excited to announce a new paper online, joint with
Weicheng Ye and Matthew Yu! I had a lot of fun in this collaboration and we got to think about some seriously cool math and physics ideas during this project (and solve some tricky extension problems!).

New paper out today, joint with Ivano Basile, Matilda Delgado, and Miguel Montero! This was a fun project and I'm looking forward to chasing down some followup ideas :)

Global anomalies & bordism of non-supersymmetric strings
The three tachyon-free non-supersymmetric string theories in ten dimensions provide a handle on quantum gravity away from the supersymmetric lamppost. However, they have not been shown to be fully...

I'm excited to announce a new paper joint with Sanath K. Devalapurkar, Cameron Krulewski, Yu Leon Liu, Natalia Pacheco-Tallaj, and Ryan Thorngren! This was in progress for a while and I'm excited to see it online and proud of our team!

A Long Exact Sequence in Symmetry Breaking: order parameter...
We study defects in symmetry breaking phases, such as domain walls, vortices, and hedgehogs. In particular, we focus on the localized gapless excitations which sometimes occur at the cores of...
