Finally I just finished watching this, and it was so good! I felt so much, it's not a light film but so beautiful. A few moments had me chuckling; the lighthearted silliness is welcome. Remember to follow your heart and dreams

I've personally lived through the first scenario, watching other units sit empty for months between tenants, though I don't know how common it is. Zillow easily shows you past/current prices. All I'm saying is that housing is unaffordable, and I don't see that changing even with some new housing

Landlords would rather have their units sit empty than lower the cost. Houses are only getting more expensive; one may have sold for 90k ten years ago but now sells for 400k. Housing remains unaffordable for most.

5% is quite a lot, more than most cities are capable of. Mine certainly isn't building anywhere close to 25,000 homes.

There's just such a deficit of homes to people needing housing; cities need help. Many people move out to the burbs because they cannot afford any condo in the city, no matter how old.

Without governmental intervention/support, builders are going to go for what nets them the greatest profit - luxury homes. And I don't think our government wants to solve the housing problem.

The larger the project, the more funds required. The wealthier the investor, the less likely they'll opt for cheap SROs. Additionally, affordable units are more expensive to build. A 49-unit project for low income families was recently built in my area with each unit costing $675k/33m total.

Didn't he also give the green light to start decimating our forests for lumber?

Wow thank you for this, I felt like I was alone going insane today

Yeah I don't get it, won't people just buy the things the day before or after? A huge reason why we're in this mess is because people won't make sacrifices. Anything that takes effort or reduces their easy life is a no go.

I totally get the thought process here. Afterwards, what sort of actions would you encourage people to take? What does it progress into that will affect meaningful change? I keep seeing this sort of activism going in circles without progress.

I am so sorry you're going through this, I know how the cats mean the world to you. Best wishes for Sekhmet pulling through.
