Oooo I love block printing.

I haven't done it in a couple years. This makes me want to get back into it.

I think the most simple version is that art became a business. You have to RUN a business with art, but it's NOT a business itself.

Our world has forgotten that.

We evolve over time, right? But not always for the best.

I think that idea of soaking into an idea more helps acting/pacing be more dramatic too. Like because we don't get the time to sit with a project enough, we never get to flesh it out the best it could be.

One of my favorite clips of David Lynch talks about this idea specifically:

OH, yes!!

That's more of a mix of differences in production/approach. Like how the actual production was paced out, in terms of direction, schedules, etc

Everything these days is at a break neck pace, but back then a lot of productions took their time more. :))

Well okay, it's not that they don't document how things were done. Lucasfilm, for example, will cite certain lenses when they want to replicate a look for a show.

BUT, that's because those archives and people are still around. There's a lot of knowledge that's been lost to time, was my point.

It just goes to show how sporadically things come together. A production is like improv in that way :))

Yeah, with film in particular there's a lot of know how that's lost with each project. How things are lit, how an actor uses a specific technique, nothing can be captured QUITE the same.

Yapping good. Art good.

Do what makes you happy! :)

I think it can be hard to take praise when we don't think we deserve it.

You DO deserve it. Whether people think we're good or not isn't up to us, so you're allowed to be happy :))
