Ok, i'm back from vacation! That means it's time for another year of Artfight! I still gotta update some stuff for character profiles and descriptions, but I'm at least ready to fight. I'm on Team Crystals this year!

I'll probably be a little slow this year, but hey, let's have some fun!

It's been a hot minute since I've felt up to posting art stuff, but it is a birthday day for one of my rats. Good time as any I suppose.

Happy Birthday, Kilua!

And for the main list. Like a Dragon being at the top isn't all that surprising given it's me we're talking about, but it had steep competition, that's for sure. Pretty much anything in the top 7 could've stolen it's spot.
This is the main list going from top to bottom my favorite things I did this year, mostly accounting for either fresh experiences or replays of things left unforgotten. Year of release also doesn't matter. FF7 Rebirth would maybe be up a spot or two, maybe, but not having it at 7th place would feel wrong to me, plus the other two ahead of it did impact me a lot more personally.

Honorable Mentions first. There's a lot I did this year and a lot of possible candidates for the list, but since I wanted to keep it to 15 like per typical, I ended up with a lot of them that were just shy of the list.
Before the main list below, this is list of other games I played over the year that I really liked, but couldn't put in the top 15. There are 21 entries listed (23 also mentioning all the versions of FF7 I played). A majority of them are games I played and beat for the first time this year, or watched / listened to for the first time, and a few others were stuff that I had experience before but have spent so long away from it that I couldn't remember everything about it, or just never beat. Sekiro, Cave Story's True Ending, A Hat in Time, and Pokemon Movie 11 all fall into this category. The odd one out of all of these is Phantom Breakers Omnia. It's probably closer to a 5/10 game, but it's also a kusoge that I played with my friends for a good bit, and we got a lot of enjoyment out of it.

So somewhat recently, I finished Octopath Traveler 2. It's really good, so much so that I wanted to take it's job system, and see how my characters would fit into it's framework. Turns out, they fit pretty well for one reason or another.

So admittedly I've been busy with a few things lately, but I wanted to celebrate the rat's (Volt's) birthday! They mean a lot to me for a lot of reasons, and while I wish I did more, I think I can settle for a fun little drawing for the occasion.

Honestly, I genuinely can't remember, and can't really go back to check. So I'm gonna say it's probably between these two? At least ones that I don't think were from Artfight at least.

So I'm starting a bit fresh art-wise on here, so I might as well post some of my ref sheets. More accurately the most recent versions because why not. So here's the pages for my characters Volt, Kilua, and Skye! (More info in the Alts)
This is a ref sheet for a character named Volt or in full, Voltia Nakano. Voltia Nakano is a somewhat scatterbrained yet free-spirited freelancer who possesses incredibly powerful ability they've spent a long time trying to deal with. They are generally very kind, curious of the world, and quite headstrong, but is very much anxiety-ridden. Below the name, their is a few lines of information explaining details about the character. -They are non-binary (uses strictly they/them) -They are a pikachu -Their birthday is on November 18th -And they are 2 ft, 4 inches tall or 71 cm roughly Below that is their color palette, which lists sections for body, eyes, clothes, and their satchel/pin, pairing each section with 5 or 6 colors each. This is a reference sheet for a character named Kilua, or in full, Alicia "Kilua" Nakano-Parfum. Kilua Nakano-Parfum is a crafty yet formidable former-thief with a love of sweets who made a name for herself as the "Ghost of Lumiose". She is generally quite mischievous and fun-loving, but tends to keep people at a distance. However, she is fiercely loyal to the ones she cares about. Below the name lists a few lines of information going over a few details relevant to her. -She is female (using strictly she/her) (She is also bi based on the flag painted next to her name) -She is a pichu -Her birthday is on May 14th -And she is 1 foot and 10 inches tall or roughly 59 cm tall Below the info is a section for her color palette ascribing sections for body, eyes, clothes, her goggles/ribbons, and her weapons (of which include a knife and metal pipe.) This is a reference sheet for a character known as Skye, or in full, Skylar Leylin. Skylar Leylin is a tenacious and talented wind mage with a secretive and partially sealed affinity for fire magic. A power initially locked away by his adoptive family that he seeks to understand the full nature of. He initially comes off as cool, collected, and a bit aloof, but can in truth be incredibly driven, strict, and somewhat intense. Below is a list of lines detailing little bits of information relevant to him. -He is Transmasc (Strictly using He/Him) -He is a Feylynx, a fictions species of bidedal cat people. -His birthday is on April 13th -And he is about 2 feet and 11 inches tall, or roughly 91 cm tall. Below all that is his color palette, ascribing sections for his Body and Eyes, his clothes, his holster and boots, and his sword and it's sheathe, with more colors with the Body and Clothes than the holster, boots, sword, and sheathe.
