“For #rumi, meditative dance opened a connection to the divine. The sculpture celebrates the industrial orange I-beams of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, the first structure artist #markdisuvero remembers seeing when he immigrated to the United States.” 🖼️

Natural pine frame, by @imalibra22.

I love doing #commissions. It’s an honor to create #art that carries a special meaning to someone. This one was made for @mel-e22.bsky.social
from a snapshot on a bike trail, 9,400’ above Moab UT in the La Sal 🏔️.

Greased Gremlin, 1979. I still have my Super Rally Case, filled with the die cast treasures of my childhood.

This #linocut revisits my earliest years as an artist. My favorite medium was crayon. I drew semis, monster trucks and race cars, and they all had flames on the side!

“Saguaros”

Inspired by a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. I completed the pencil sketch (from a photo) during the plane ride back to KC. Wasting no time, ink and watercolor were applied this morning. Sometimes a work comes easy!

Bunny. An older, sophisticated lady. She begrudgingly tolerates her young 🐈‍⬛ brother, Bugs.

Here, she’s perched at the edge of a table, her back leg stiff from the rod that was inserted long ago, following an unfortunate canine encounter.

I’m honored to have created her portrait.

This is my first #sparklepony drawing. As a girl child, I was more into hot rods and monster trucks.
BUT. A friend’s preschooler was diagnosed with a rare cancer last July, #rhabdomyosarcoma. And she has asked for cards & drawings. So here we are. I hope this brightens her day.
Also, #fuckcancer. 🦄

Color Pencil on Paper

Inspired by the Uncle Tupelo song of the same name, and by a love of Precisionist art and local color.

It has been hiding in the top drawer of my drafting table for a while. Thought it was time for an introduction.

18 Road / Prime Cut - Fruita CO

Limited Edition Print - 18” x 9”

This was a fun one. Packed up my paints, hopped on my bike and rode until I found a spot that spoke to me. Just a few yards off the single track trail, set up the camp chair and put the landscape in front of me on paper.

Visited CO the week after Christmas, and was treated to two art experiences—🐱🐺, and an exhibition of works by #MauriceSendak. My two favorite parts, watching the evolution of his illustrations, and his love of 🐶!
