I’m a traditional artist specializing in oil paints, acrylics, oil pastels, water colors, and digital art. I accept commissions when not creating art for conventions, painting murals, or comic books. I’m also a proud ambassador for Natural Earth Paints.
I was following a YouTube video on how to paint a faux wood texture on canvas using oil paints. One of the key steps is to use a paint thinner, which I did not have. So what did I use instead? All-Purpose Cleaner

I’ll be honest, I have no idea how I saved that background after the black water spread 🫣 this painting taught me so much about gouache and using the right paper. I have some key notes to make that I will be sharing soon, along with the story behind it and a slower Timelapse to break it down.

In the video game Dark Souls 3, you come across this beautiful painting on the wall. To your surprise, you learn that it is not simply a painting — it is a portal to another world.

Once upon a time, I dated a prick. Can you relate? Anyways 🤦🏻‍♀️ even a broken clock is right two times a day, and this one supported my art. He knew a restaurant-owner who was wanting to up the vibes of the place.

I used @naturalearthpaint pigment in Mayan Red and Walnut Oil to mix my own oil paint. Layering it over the oil pastel gave it the ‘glow’ I wanted to achieve and I’m very pleased with the result.

Painting “Mia” was a very humbling experience. As an oil painter, I thought acrylic paint would be significantly easier. But I did it all wrong, and it frustrated me so much that I swore I would never paint with acrylics again! (It’s okay, I calmed down eventually and took it back)
