Text based apps like bsky make me realize I am neither funny nor have any worthwhile hot takes.

I do have cats, though.

Grateful for the snow, which puts nitrogen back in the soil and provides cold stratification for winter seeding.

I made 80 “seed tiles” as part of thank yous to all the donors who chipped in to our $24,000 goal to make a monumental earthwork happen in IL.

Tiles have the word “kin” printed on them

I’m surprisingly sad to see TikTok go, and even sadder to see the name of the person who initiated the ban thanked in their sign off message. So many small businesses with suffer, among a many others.

Grateful for the village of chosen family who step up to keep an eye on the farm so we can steal away to the big city to see Jamie xx @ the Aragon. It healed my soul to dance and be lost in a crowd listening to my favorite DJ

Three years ago today I lost my beloved heart dog. She died in my arms. I will never be the same and cherished every second I had with her. See you someday on the other side, sweet Zahra.

Keeping horses and cattle at this time of year is physically exhausting and mentally taxing.

Holding space for early mornings with the animals coming up on a green grass hill emerging from a blanket of fog.

Soon enough, spring will come.

There are seven nesting boxes. All the chickens want to use the same one. The Barred Rock tried to displace the Orpington and the Orpington would not budge. So the Barred Rock just crawled right under her. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I work between the practice contemporary art, the field of human-animal studies, and agriculture.

One proj I’m working on is a series of earthworks made with draft animal power (oxen mostly!)

I’m lucky to have these boys, Clark & Sparky, as the best coworkers and friends:
